Business Description: The business is a well-established 13-year-old B2B (Business to Business) customer printer and supplier of ink and toner cartridges to local businesses (estimated at 60%) and consumers (~40%) located primarily in Tarrant County. The business primarily sells remanufactured cartridges but also offers OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) cartridges, all at prices that are typically 30-50% less expensive than office supply stores such as OfficeMax. Typical print work and graphic design includes business cards, postcards, banners, posters, canvas, window graphics, etc.
The primary customers for print work are small businesses, churches, occasionally, people hosting small events. For toner cartridges, primary customers are medical, law, and insurance offices as well as other small businesses. Ink cartridges are generally sold to home-based consumers with printers.
The business remanufactures higher volume, simple inkjet cartridges and purchases low volume inkjet plus all toner cartridges wholesale from 3rd party partners. Purchase Price: The asking price for the assets of the business is $130,000 with $30,000 CASH down payment and balance financed as an SBA7(a) loan. If required by a commercial lender, the seller will consider financing up to 10% of the price to a purchaser qualified/approved by the seller. Seller prefers to sell for ALL-CASH. Seller Financing is subject to Seller’s Approval, in Seller’s SOLE discretion and responsibility, of the Purchaser’s financials, Credit-worthiness and suitability as the Purchaser. Employees: The business operates with 1 full-time owner-operator and 1 fully trained, loyal full-time employee. The owner can take vacation and feel confident that the business is being well-operated by the employee. The owner-operator (averaging 34 hours/wk) oversees the business, helps customers with transactions and inquiries, takes print work orders and completes design/print, fills printer cartridges and helps where needed, places orders for inventory, and organizes everything financially. The owner makes 3 or so business deliveries per month. The new owner needs to have previous experience using Adobe Illustrator or be familiar with how to do graphic design. The most successful advertising has been to send out a marketer visiting business to business and handing out flyers (or giving quotes).
Most of their sales have been from people coming into the store and purchasing. A few business customers call or email their orders, and the business ships their cartridges directly to them. The business also delivers to ~5 long-term customers, with 3-5 deliveries per month within a 5 mile radius. A new, energetic owner can further increase sales & profits in many ways including:
